Dr. Mersereau is a family doctor, having graduated from Emory University School of Medicine and completed 3 years of medical training and 3 years of surgical training in Dallas and New York. He recently retired from Emory Healthcare primary care clinics after 20 years with them. Dr. Mersereau is excited to be a part of the Superior Healthcare team. Superior Healthcare emphasizes avoiding surgical and invasive procedures when possible and using and enhancing the body’s own healing powers through the gifted hands of the team’s chiropractors and therapists.

Dr. Donna attended the Fort Lauderdale School of Massage Therapy in 1993 where she focused on anatomy & physiology and a therapeutic based massage curriculum. The techniques studied included Janet Travel Trigger Point, St. John’s Neuromuscular and Sacral-Occipital therapies. Donna completed her bachelor’s degree as well as her doctorate degree with cum laude honors. While at the University, she had the opportunity to perform physical and massage therapies on the school’s athletes as well as assist with therapies for the Atlanta Hawks professional basketball team. She has dedicated a lot of her time and talent through the years taking care of many of the area’s young athletes as well. Her focus is on helping people to improve the quality of their lives through a multi-faceted approach incorporating chiropractic care, spinal rehabilitative therapies, whole food and herbal support, exercise and weight management. Throughout each year she attends seminars and specialty training for nutrition, functional medicine, blood chemistry analysis and mobility therapy to further her education and benefit her patients’ care.

Julia Thorne, originally from South Florida, began and completed her studies in Nursing at the University of Central Florida, where she went on to pursue her Masters Degree in Family Practice. She has extensive skills and training in Holistic Medical Pain Management and physical medicine.

As a rugby player, martial artist and doctor, Dr. Atlee T. Wampler IV, BA, DC, MS is no stranger to injuries.  Renowned across the United States as one of the foremost authorities on nonsurgical treatments for healing neuro-musculoskeletal injuries and pain, Dr. Wampler acknowledges that no single healing art has the solution to all varieties of injury that can plague the human body.  Thus, Dr. Wampler created the Superior Healthcare Sandy Springs office in the heart of Sandy Springs, Georgia.  The facility is a state of the art, medically supervised, physical medicine and rehabilitation center providing the combined efforts of several healthcare professionals working together to achieve optimal results.  At Superior Healthcare Sandy Springs, medical doctors, chiropractors, physiotherapists, neuromuscular therapists and rehabilitation specialists work together in a team approach to find the origin of a patient’s health problem and develop the appropriate treatment protocols.  By correcting the true cause of the patient’s health problem rather than merely treating its symptom we can achieve the lasting permanent results patients desire.

Dr. Cox is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) & Physiatry. After obtaining his medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, he went on to complete his internship at Harvard School of Medicine’s Cambridge Health Alliance, then completed his residency in PM&R at Emory University. Dr. Cox specializes in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal and spine disorders, and provides these services to our clinic on select dates throughout the month.

Sandra graduated from Andrews University in 1998 as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She is board certified and has specialized in pain management her entire career. She also has extensive training in injection therapy. She is extremely passionate about finding non-narcotic solutions for patients in acute and chronic pain.
